From the time we start pre-construction on a custom home in Star Valley, Wyoming, to the time you move in, there can be as many as 150-200 different trades-people coming in and out of your home to work. These trades-people, know as subcontractors, make up the bulk of the work force that will end up building your home. Working with the builder, subcontractors execute the blueprints and plans that bring your home from paper to reality.

Using a process called Pre-Construction, we plan the entire build before any physical work begins.

Most clients think that framing is a rough stage of construction, that all the small details will come together several more months down the line when the painters, cabinet makers and trim carpenters show up. But the truth is, many of the details that look incredible at the end start with a lot of planning and forethought while the framers are nailing studs together and flying trusses.

A site plan is an important part of the pre-construction and design phase. It's crucial in bringing a design from two-dimensional drawing to your home. Although our site plans can be detailed, a high level of detail allows our carpenters and the subcontracted trades that come in after to have a baseline understanding of your vision.

Much like Star Valley Ranch, Wyoming, we do still need to apply for a building permit. Instead of a town jurisdiction, we apply directly to the Lincoln County Planning and Zoning Commision (located in Afton, WY) for this building permit. Basically, any home built outside the city limits of Star Valley Ranch, Wyoming or Alpine, Wyoming applies to Lincoln County for the purpose of obtaining a building permit.
